Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and productionize ML solutions for document understanding, search and QnA, GenAI, and virtual agents.
- Develop and maintain Python backend services for AI-driven applications.
- Design and implement APIs integrating AI models and services.
- Serve as a machine learning subject matter expert while collaborating with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Manage the ML lifecycle from problem definition and data exploration through feature engineering, training, validation, and deployment.
- Implement system telemetry, A/B testing, statistical validation, and automated testing for ML solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Document and communicate development processes, system designs, and architectural decisions.
- Maintain security and compliance of healthcare data in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, machine learning, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of industry experience focused on ML solution development and production deployment.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, efficient algorithms, and software quality practices.
- Strong Python proficiency and familiarity with ML libraries such as PyTorch.
- Knowledge of statistical machine learning and AI applied to NLP, speech, RAG, virtual agents, or document processing.
- Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with GenAI services such as OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, or Google Gemma, including prompt development and fine-tuning.
- Experience with microservices or API-based application paradigms.
- Strong problem-solving, logical thinking, collaboration, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work across disciplines in a fast-paced startup environment and contribute to product quality and test engineering.
