Base Salary
$90k - $140k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement observability solutions and organization-wide logging standards.
- Create and maintain monitoring dashboards that provide actionable system health and performance insights.
- Partner with platform and application teams to integrate observability into system architecture.
- Evaluate and recommend observability tools and vendors.
- Analyze logs, metrics, and traces to identify system issues, bottlenecks, user patterns, and system behavior.
- Develop predictive monitoring strategies using AI tools, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics.
- Conduct what-if analysis and scenario modeling for potential performance impacts.
- Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, Security, production support, and product teams.
- Lead observability initiatives, facilitate technical discussions, and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with observability tools such as ELK Stack, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Aternity, and Moog or similar.
- 3+ years of software engineering or infrastructure experience.
- Experience with Python, Java, Go, and query languages.
- Expert-level knowledge of logging requirements and observability best practices.
- Demonstrated experience building and optimizing monitoring dashboards.
- Ability to use observability data to proactively identify and resolve system issues.
- Experience using AI tools for anomaly detection and trend analysis.
- Experience with alerting and Linux or Unix environments.
- Nice-to-have experience with Tableau or advanced visualization tools.
- Nice-to-have experience in financial technology or financial services environments.
- Nice-to-have experience with Anthropic, OpenAI, Devin, Copilot, or other recent AI tools.
- Nice-to-have experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.
- Background in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering is preferred.
- Experience identifying networking slowness and availability issues is preferred.
