Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of full-stack applications aligned with business needs.
  • Design and develop large-scale, mission-critical, high-performance, high-availability systems and client-facing RESTful APIs.
  • Implement Java, Spring Boot, REST, microservices, and event-driven architecture solutions.
  • Collaborate with product, operations, security, and other cross-functional stakeholders on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Drive coding, testing, deployment, code review, debugging, security, compliance, and performance best practices.
  • Participate in architectural decisions and technology strategy.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers.
  • Contribute directly to successful and timely project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10–14 years of software development experience.
  • Expert-level experience designing and developing client-facing RESTful APIs.
  • Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST development, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
  • Basic knowledge of Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Recent, demonstrable use of AI-native development tools as a core part of the software engineering workflow.
  • Strong knowledge of relational database management systems and messaging technologies including IBM MQ and Kafka.
  • Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, containerization, and automated API testing.
  • Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, and signed request verification using public/private key cryptography.
  • Experience with code quality and static analysis tools such as SonarQube or Veracode.
  • Experience with Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
  • Prior lead engineering experience in finance, particularly payments, is preferred.
  • Strong technical and communication skills.
