Base Salary
$118k - $212k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop an ecosystem of software services for Equinix’s networking platform.
- Build scalable and efficient distributed systems and networking services.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment pipelines.
- Identify technical debt and drive improvements in software quality.
- Partner with support and operations teams on operationalization, observability, and production support.
- Participate in incident management, production troubleshooting, and an on-call rotation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and promote innovation, technical excellence, and collaboration.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software development experience, preferably building and operating highly reliable distributed systems.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a relevant engineering field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience building software-defined, multi-tenant networking platforms at scale using cloud-native networking technologies.
- Understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols and concepts, including BGP, EVP-LAN, and IPSEC.
- Experience with gRPC and Netconf network management protocols.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other open-source containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure services and technologies.
- Expertise automating application deployments into Kubernetes on x86 deployments.
- Experience with open-source and networking technologies, ecosystems, communities, and industry forums such as the Linux Foundation.
- Good understanding of the application development stack and recent, proficient experience with Golang.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for conveying findings, recommendations, and technical details.

- Full-time base-pay ranges vary by location: USD 118,000–212,000 annually in the listed US locations and CAD 88,000–132,000 annually in Toronto.
