Responsibilities
- Work through conceptual design, detailed design, implementation, testing, and production deployment for data-focused enterprise engagements.
- Define, assemble, and present technical data deliverables and work products.
- Contribute to technical design, implementation, and testing of complete enterprise solutions.
- Design and implement master data management, operational data stores, dimensional models, stored procedures, databases, ETL processes, and BI reporting environments.
- Ensure applications meet business requirements and systems goals, identify systems issues, and develop improvement strategies.
- Collaborate with business liaisons, project teams, internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to identify needs, estimate work, prioritize issues, and resolve problems.
- Develop business-oriented data dictionaries, data flows, application diagrams, ER diagrams, system specifications, and technical design documents.
- Provide data input affecting engagement scope and delivery, and contribute to data architecture, warehouse technology stack, data modeling, and ETL standards.
- Define an enterprise-wide data aggregation approach spanning multiple systems and data integration points.
- Profile data to measure quality and integrity and implement tools, scripts, queries, or applications for data and metadata analysis.
- Lead internal meetings, present and defend analysis findings, participate in client calls, and deliver working database and BI solutions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of related software development experience across multiple database platforms and ETL development.
- A college degree in computer science or computer information systems, or equivalent business experience.
- At least five years of experience building applications with SSAS, SSRS, and .NET technologies.
- At least five years of experience building ETL processes with SSIS.
- At least two years of experience building ad hoc reporting environments using report models and SharePoint.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, stored procedures, BI report development, SQL, T-SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Experience with at least one BI tool or ETL tool, with the Microsoft BI stack preferred.
- Experience with dimensional and 3NF modeling and with OLTP and OLAP environments.
- Experience in IT consulting, technical integration, data architecture, data warehousing, or enterprise data projects.
- Proven analytical, evaluative, problem-solving, written communication, oral communication, presentation, and technical documentation abilities.
- Ability to scope data work and contribute to strategies and roadmaps.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented delivery environment and present findings to stakeholders.
