Base Salary
$230k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, implement, and support cloud-first data solutions and applications.
- Architect and enforce reusable data engineering patterns across platforms and pipelines.
- Design and operate scalable, resilient data pipelines and platforms for increasing data volumes and business demands.
- Lead large-scale data initiatives end to end and make critical platform and architectural decisions.
- Mentor engineers and elevate the skills of peers and junior data engineers.
- Communicate technical concepts and data outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of application development experience, excluding internships.
- At least 4 years of experience in distributed data, SQL, and programming with Python, Java, or Scala.
- At least 4 years of experience designing and developing data pipelines.
- At least 2 years of experience in data modeling and end-to-end data solutions using relational and non-relational databases.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, 8+ years of data engineering experience, cloud workload experience, distributed data or compute experience, streaming pipelines, data observability, orchestration, NoSQL, data warehousing, and reusable data products.

- Annual salary ranges vary by location: $209,000-$238,500 in Chicago and Richmond, $229,900-$262,400 in McLean, and $250,800-$286,200 in New York.
- The role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
- Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.
