Responsibilities
- Lead one to two large, multi-quarter initiatives across design, development, launch, and rollout.
- Own a technical domain or system long-term and provide technical direction, architecture, and durable improvements.
- Design, develop, test, and enhance web-based applications using established coding standards and engineering practices.
- Make independent technical decisions, define domain-level standards and patterns, and manage technical debt, toil, and security issues.
- Define project plans, milestones, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes for larger initiatives.
- Lead code reviews, mentor engineers, improve team practices, and contribute to hiring and team culture.
- Design architecture and infrastructure patterns while balancing scale, reliability, simplicity, performance, and cost.
- Drive production issue response, post-mortems, SLA/SLO practices, monitoring, and durable operational fixes.
- Coordinate across teams and stakeholders and improve how customer impact is measured, communicated, and delivered.
- Use AI coding tools and agentic coding assistants effectively and guide practical adoption across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s-level or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience, within the stated 5–8 year range.
- Technical leadership experience on production systems and sustained ownership of domains or multi-component initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core, .NET Framework, TypeScript, NestJS, Node.js, React.js or Angular, and microservices or event-driven architecture.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, relational and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, testing strategies, RESTful APIs, Git-based source control, and code reviews.
- Preferred qualifications include Python, Databricks, and AWS or Azure Developer certification.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, stakeholder-management, mentoring, technical judgment, and problem-solving skills.
