Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Translate complex business challenges into engineering roadmaps, user requirements, and technical specifications.
- Lead experimentation with AI technologies, model types, LLM-based features, and platform capabilities from proof of concept through scaled launch.
- Provide technical leadership across AI, data platforms, and large-scale distributed systems.
- Lead discovery with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to recommend architectures and model integration patterns.
- Establish standards for responsible AI, data quality, model testing, explainability, observability, and governance.
- Plan and implement AI capabilities and intelligent features integrated into Visa’s global platforms and customer experiences.
- Analyze customer signals, system performance, and model behavior to drive systemic improvements.
- Mentor teams, develop best practices, and contribute to internal AI learning programs.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, 5 years with an advanced degree, 2 years with a PhD, or 11 years of relevant experience without the stated degree alternatives.
- Preferred experience includes 9 years with a bachelor’s degree, 7 years with an advanced degree, or 3 years with a PhD.
- Expertise in Python and/or NodeJS, with Java or C/C++ experience as a bonus.
- Experience building generative AI applications, conversational AI, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-agent architectures.
- Understanding of NLP, tokenization, word embeddings, sequence models, deep learning, neural networks, and training procedures.
- Ability to design AI components and integrate them into larger systems, including familiarity with AI robustness issues.
- Experience with large datasets, exploratory data analysis, data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
- Experience with large-scale enterprise application design, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and implementation of substantial components.
- Exposure to machine learning, deep learning, stream computing, and MLOps.
- Understanding of enterprise security, certificate management, application security, SSDLC, and cryptography fundamentals.
- Experience with ReactJS, Angular, Jenkins, container deployment architecture, OAuth2.0, SSO, and authentication methods.
- Experience in payments technology is a plus.
