Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and architecture across the team’s services.
- Design, build, and operate complex software systems supporting device planning, forecasting, and inventory inputs.
- Decide when to consolidate, rebuild, or retire systems.
- Lead design reviews, code reviews, and operational-readiness standards.
- Replace recurring manual work with automation, improved system design, and AI-assisted agents.
- Collaborate with product managers, scientists, and partner engineers on requirements, interfaces, and ownership boundaries.
- Mentor engineers through design guidance, documentation, and pairing.
Requirements
- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 7+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 7+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Preferred: 7+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
