Responsibilities

Develop software that creates data-driven intelligence for products using Big Data backends.
Perform exploratory data analysis and develop efficient data structures and algorithms.
Develop advanced algorithms and potentially machine-learning models and pipelines.
Manage data in large-scale NoSQL, time-series, and geospatial data stores.
Create metrics and evaluate algorithms for improved accuracy and recall.
Improve data access and usage through indexing, clustering, sharding, and caching.
Collaborate with engineering and product-development teams.
Mentor and manage team members and take responsibility for team deadlines.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, or a master’s degree or higher in Statistics or Mathematics.
4–7 years of product-development experience involving algorithmic work.
At least 3 years of experience working with large datasets or performing large-scale quantitative analysis.
Hands-on experience with Python programming.
Experience with Python data-processing, analytics, and visualization tools.
Strong understanding of SQL and querying NoSQL databases.
Understanding of large-database management, including indexing, sharding, and caching.
Exposure to Big Data technologies, machine-learning algorithms, geospatial data stores, and data visualization.
Understanding of SaaS products and services and strong algorithmic problem-solving skills.
Ability to mentor and manage a team and take responsibility for team deadlines.
