Responsibilities
- Architect and own robust end-to-end integrations connecting LPR cameras and other edge hardware with cloud platforms, Video Management Systems, and Vehicle Intelligence platforms.
- Develop, test, deploy, and manage the lifecycle of backend software integrations within full-stack Agile Scrum teams.
- Design and optimize scalable, high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems and complex data workflows.
- Debug performance bottlenecks, improve database and query efficiency, and apply caching and other optimization strategies.
- Lead technical design, architectural reviews, technical risk mitigation, and structural improvements across the engineering ecosystem.
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers and collaborate with Camera, AI, platform engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- At least 6 years of software development or software engineering experience.
- Strong backend development experience with C#, C++, or similar systems-level languages.
- Experience with large-scale data systems, database design, query optimization, caching strategies, distributed systems, and microservices architectures.
- Proven ability to debug and optimize high-throughput, low-latency systems.
- Experience acting as a technical lead, mentoring engineers, and driving cross-functional architectural reviews.
- Solid understanding of Windows and Linux development environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with video systems, computer vision, AI/ML pipelines, image processing, large binary data, Docker, modern build systems, cloud-connected systems, hybrid edge/cloud architectures, NoSQL or embedded databases, Berkeley DB, and complex legacy-system improvements.

- Target base salary range of $120,000 CAD to $165,000 CAD.
