Base Salary
$240k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Identify and drive resolution of high-impact technical problems and cross-team gaps across Travel & Expense
- Set technical direction through design reviews, architecture decisions, and hands-on engineering work
- Partner with Staff Engineers and engineering managers across expenses, travel, policy, and spend controls to align direction and unblock execution
- Mentor senior engineers, improve how teams design and ship, and develop future technical leaders
- Bring an AI-forward mindset to how the organization builds, reviews, and operates
- Contribute to technical strategy and inform leadership investment decisions
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience with technical leadership across multiple teams or a group
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve ambiguous, cross-cutting problems without a defined charter
- Deep experience designing and operating large-scale backend systems in production
- Strong collaboration skills and a record of raising the engineering bar while working with individual contributors and managers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
