Base Salary
$165k - $207k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Management and cross-functional teams on the strategic roadmap for APIs, developer tools, SDKs, applications, analytics, and enterprise platform capabilities.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable Developer Platform capabilities for developers and SaaS providers.
- Build developer sandboxes, onboarding experiences, testing environments, and self-service tools.
- Prototype and deliver high-impact capabilities from concept through production in partnership with senior engineering leadership.
- Develop self-service app hubs, admin experiences, and entitlement visibility tools for enterprise customers.
- Use large-scale datasets and big data technologies to improve billing, platform efficiency, and developer experience.
- Participate in on-call rotations, triage production issues, and improve platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Provide technical leadership and influence architecture, design, and implementation decisions.
- Lead complex cross-team initiatives involving internal and external dependencies.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of full-stack software engineering experience with strong emphasis on backend systems, databases, and API development.
- Experience developing against a broad set of APIs and providing feedback on API designs.
- Solid understanding of the full web technology stack.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with cloud-based services and their security, scalability, and reliability considerations.
- Ability to collaborate with Product, UX, and engineering teams to align technical efforts with product vision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and interest in creating developer-friendly products.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with Apache Spark, large-scale data pipelines, and analytics systems.
- Preferred: experience applying machine learning techniques to engineering problems.
- Preferred: rapid prototyping experience in ambiguous, greenfield environments.
- Preferred: experience with Box platform architecture, Box APIs, SDK development, or building an app using Box APIs.
- Preferred: experience building scalable, highly available service-oriented architectures.
- Preferred: open-source project contributions and participation in developer communities such as Stack Overflow or GitHub.
