Base Salary
$199k - $248k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, validate, and roll out distributed systems and software load balancers for Box’s internal and external networking infrastructure.
- Own technical solutions end to end from ideation and design through delivery, rollout, and impact measurement.
- Identify and complete improvements to Box’s network and platform infrastructure.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical growth of the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver networking solutions and improve platform reliability.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to and triage production issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience focused on distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or platform/networking engineering.
- Production experience with L4/L7 load balancers, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- Strong proficiency in at least one of Go, Java, C, C++, or Rust, with experience designing reliable and observable services.
- Track record of delivering technical solutions end to end and measuring their impact.
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team technical growth.
- Experience working on cloud or platform infrastructure teams and operating in hybrid environments.
- Collaborative, ownership-driven approach and willingness to use AI to improve work impact.
