
Senior Software Engineer
Forum VenturesResponsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable backend services, robust APIs, and agentic workflows.
- Contribute to full-stack product experiences that connect complex backend data to intuitive interfaces.
- Work with LLM pipelines, agent orchestration, and statistical systems processing large-scale organic data.
- Improve reliability, performance, observability, and maintainability across cloud infrastructure.
- Own complex features from problem definition through production delivery.
- Collaborate with product and data science teams to clarify requirements, assess trade-offs, and make architecture decisions.
- Use AI tools to improve development velocity, code quality, and internal workflows.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade software.
- Strong backend development experience with Python, Ruby, Go, Java, or similar languages.
- Hands-on experience with document databases such as MongoDB and analytical data formats such as Parquet.
- Experience building, scheduling, and monitoring pipelines using Astro, Apache Airflow, LangChain, or similar tools.
- Practical understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and message queues or event streaming using tools such as Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
- Strong foundations in computer science, software architecture, performance optimization, and scalable data-intensive systems.
- Familiarity with deploying and monitoring applications in cloud environments, with Azure preferred.
- Experience with React and TypeScript is highly valued.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent deep practical experience.
- Ability to work independently amid ambiguity, take ownership, make pragmatic trade-offs, and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
