Responsibilities
- Design, implement, extend, and maintain web software functionality for high-volume market-data websites and exchange-related systems.
- Build end-to-end web solutions spanning frontend visualizations, backend APIs, SQL database schemas, and queries.
- Create automated unit tests, perform full-stack testing, resolve systemic issues, and participate in peer code reviews.
- Support certification, production operations, system performance, and high availability, including occasional weekend and out-of-hours support.
- Create customer documentation, technical specifications, requirements materials, and other application documentation.
- Act as project manager for features involving multiple parties and contribute to requirements gathering, sprint planning, and team meetings.
- Mentor software engineers and serve as a subject matter expert for one or more systems or technologies.
- Communicate with management, stakeholders, and technical colleagues while delivering quality solutions on schedule and within budget.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience developing high-performance, data-driven websites.
- Strong knowledge of Python, Linux, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Django.
- Strong JavaScript experience with ExtJS, React, and NextJS.
- Experience with MVC web frameworks, preferably Django.
- Familiarity with modern web standards including HTML5 and CSS3.
- Experience with Linux or UNIX-like systems, Apache, ReactJS, SQL databases, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Python unit testing and full-stack web testing.
- A B.Sc. in Computer Science is preferred, or a B.Sc. in Computer/Software Engineering, or demonstrable equivalent knowledge.
- Basic UI/UX design skills and excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities.
