Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize distributed-system components supporting horizontal and vertical scaling under senior-engineer guidance.
- Configure and test resiliency mechanisms such as retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, redundancy, replication, and automatic failover.
- Conduct performance, load, fault-injection, brown-out, and other correctness testing.
- Build and maintain telemetry, dashboards, alerts, alarming configurations, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Diagnose component and operational issues, run troubleshooting automation, participate in incident response and root-cause investigations, and support on-call rotations.
- Assist with data replication and synchronization, security controls, encryption, access controls, remediation plans, and cloud-infrastructure compliance.
- Maintain automation scripts and tools and follow change-management procedures for patching, updates, and rollbacks.
- Track work timelines, collaborate with stakeholders, escalate complex issues, and contribute to process improvements.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience with systems or application development.
- Proficiency programming in C/C++.
- Proficiency with Linux.
- Development experience implementing network protocols or processing network packets.
- Experience with performance or scale testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering or a related engineering field.
- Preferred: experience in CI/CD environments, production-environment simulation and testing, Python test automation, Agile development, and cloud technologies.
- Preferred: master’s or PhD degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
