Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture and platform decisions for the engineering side of the Cogentiq I2C product.
- Lead delivery across the Next.js front end, FastAPI service layer, data tier, and infrastructure.
- Define and manage interfaces between the application engineering platform and the agentic runtime in partnership with the AI Lead.
- Lead, coach, and unblock engineers while setting technical standards and remaining hands-on in the code.
- Take on difficult technical slices, establish implementation patterns, and conduct code reviews.
- Own testing, performance, release processes, environments, technical debt, CI/CD, and incident response.
- Break the roadmap into sprint work, estimate delivery, and communicate risks and slippage.
- Partner with product management on feasibility, sequencing, and engineering trade-offs.
Requirements
- 10–14 years of software development experience, including at least three years leading a team or a full product build.
- Experience owning technical design for a product rather than only implementing another person’s design.
- Deep expertise in at least one technical tier and sufficient working knowledge across front end, services, data, and platform engineering.
- Strong Python and production experience with FastAPI or an equivalent service framework.
- Practical experience with modern front-end technologies such as React or Next.js.
- Data engineering experience with Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake, and SQL, including sound lakehouse versus PostgreSQL design judgment.
- Enough knowledge of LLM and agentic systems to build and support the platform they depend on.
- A product engineering track record involving software built for multiple clients rather than one-off delivery for a single engagement.
- Experience with version control, automated testing, environment management, structured incident handling, and CI/CD practices.
- Cloud experience with Azure or an equivalent cloud platform.
- Preferred experience includes order-to-cash or accounts receivable, SAP FI-AR or equivalent, ERP connectors, schema drift, reconciliation, multi-tenant platforms, access control, and tenant separation.
