Base Salary

$76k - $156k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Provide insight and oversight of Orion GNCP flight software development by the prime contractor.
  • Review flight software requirements, architecture, design, development, integration, verification, validation, production, and certification.
  • Analyze difficult GNCP software problems, review C++ code, identify risks, and guide corrective actions.
  • Support the Orion Mission Evaluation Room Flight Software Console during Artemis missions.
  • Coordinate software issues and resolutions across NASA, contractor, program, and vehicle systems engineering teams.
  • Provide technical feedback and inputs for Certification of Flight Readiness recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, computer science, mechanical, electrical, computer, or software engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of related software systems engineering experience with real-time, safety-critical aerospace software and expertise in Guidance, Navigation, Control, or Propulsion.
  • Experience working with flight software providers to correct system defects and with software-dominant flight control systems.
  • Ability to analyze NASA spacecraft contract requirements and solve complex technical problems.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
  • Preferred qualifications include a relevant master’s degree, human-rated spacecraft experience, object-oriented C++, Python, NASA core Flight System, hardware/software integration, flight software verification, configuration management tools, and NASA Orion or SSET standards experience.
