Base Salary

$151k - $230k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design the OpenUSD schema and composition strategy for a large, versioned 3D asset library spanning authoring tools and simulation engines.
  • Build and own automated pipelines that move assets between DCC tools and real-time or simulation engines.
  • Define CI validation gates for asset integrity and fidelity before production deployment.
  • Develop physically accurate material conversion using UsdShade and MDL where needed.
  • Design asset metadata for discovery, semantic labeling, and downstream tooling.
  • Own the pipeline from design through production, including observability, reliability, and content-authoring usability.
  • Partner with simulation and infrastructure teams to make core architecture decisions and deliver the system to production.

Requirements

  • Deep practical expertise with OpenUSD composition, including references, variants, payloads, inherits, and specializes.
  • Experience authoring and validating custom USD API and applied schemas.
  • Strong UsdShade expertise for authoring, validating, and converting complex material networks.
  • Production experience building and owning automated DCC-to-engine pipelines using version-controlled Python in CI.
  • Experience managing USD libraries at scale, including versioning, identifier and namespace conventions, and validation across thousands of assets.
  • Nice-to-have experience with NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim, Kit extensions, USD ingest, Replicator, or synthetic-data-generation pipelines.
  • Nice-to-have experience with Houdini LOPs, MDL, sensor simulation, or automotive, defense, and robotics simulation.
  • ROS 2 and scene assembly experience are additional pluses.
