Base Salary
$120k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement observability solutions using metrics, logging, tracing, alerting thresholds, and automated responses based on service level objectives.
- Design, build, maintain, and scale AWS cloud infrastructure and container-based applications.
- Implement infrastructure as code with Terraform and related tools, automate operational tasks, and reduce engineering toil.
- Maintain infrastructure security compliance and least-privilege access controls.
- Conduct post-incident reviews, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative reliability improvements.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and help achieve 99.999% system availability.
- Improve system reliability, performance, scalability, developer experience, and infrastructure cost efficiency.
- Build and support an opinionated platform approach across compliant development and production environments.
Requirements
- Senior candidates require 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- IC3 candidates require 3+ years of experience on Site Reliability or Platform Engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools including Terraform, Spacelift, or Pulumi.
- Experience with observability platforms and practices such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, ELK, or Splunk.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Go or Python.
- Preferred qualifications include distributed systems, microservice architectures, high-compliance environments, service mesh technologies, holistic monitoring and alerting, open-source contributions, identity verification or fintech experience, and application development experience.
