Responsibilities
- Maintain and scale the main gateway and application reliability layer.
- Own business-critical applications and manage application architecture.
- Write infrastructure-as-code using Terraform modules.
- Build tooling for logging, metrics, alerting, and configuration management.
- Collaborate with MyGeotab Software Development, CAE, and Site Reliability Engineering teams.
- Help migrate production services into Kubernetes.
- Build AI-enhanced observability and monitoring systems.
- Design intelligent alerting systems.
- Define and track SLIs and SLOs for core applications.
- Build dashboards, runbooks, and automated tooling.
- Participate in post-incident reviews to improve reliability.
Requirements
- 2+ years of software development experience in C# or a comparable object-oriented language.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience, including deploying workloads and debugging in production.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Strong fundamentals in Linux and distributed systems.
- Solid engineering practices including code review, testing, and Git.
- Understanding of core networking concepts like load balancing and DNS.
- Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus or Grafana.
- Familiarity with SRE practices including SLOs and error budgets.
- Experience operating systems at high scale (100M+ requests/day).
- PostgreSQL or SQL Server database experience.
- Prior experience in an on-call rotation for mission-critical systems.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
