Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and high-throughput Prime Brokerage transaction-booking platforms.
- Optimize application performance and scalability for mission-critical transaction-processing systems.
- Design and deliver platform capabilities spanning electronic trading, asset capture, processing and matching engines, workflow and rules engines, clearing, and settlement.
- Implement data quality and data governance standards and translate stakeholder data needs into technical solutions and data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with external clients, internal stakeholders, and globally distributed onshore and offshore engineering teams.
- Contribute to code reviews, development-process improvements, technical documentation, training materials, and team knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the broader data architecture community through presentations and knowledge sharing.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve software delivery, engineering workflows, and developer productivity.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant experience is generally expected.
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
- Strong Java and Spring experience developing enterprise-level systems.
- Strong experience implementing multithreaded and concurrent applications.
- Experience with messaging brokers, distributed caching, message queues, and streaming platforms such as Kafka.
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven and message-driven architecture, REST services, application integration, software design patterns, frameworks, unit testing, automated testing, and performance or memory analysis.
- Understanding of n-tier service-oriented architecture, systems engineering, and build and release management principles including continuous integration and continuous delivery.
- Understanding of Docker and container orchestration.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database systems, Snowflake, and Databricks.
- Familiarity with AWS and Azure cloud platforms and their data services.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring, frontier AI tools such as Claude and Copilot, and specification-based AI coding.
- Knowledge of AI/ML and hands-on experience implementing generative AI solutions are preferred.
- Strong design and implementation fundamentals for scalable systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and in geographically distributed teams.
