Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and verification of high-performance autonomy solutions for defense applications.
- Prototype, evaluate, refine, and deploy machine-learning algorithms and solutions.
- Build software and infrastructure foundations for behavior-specific machine-learning development using Applied Intuition products.
- Develop perception and planning algorithms, optimize performance, and create robust system architectures.
- Collaborate with perception, planning, and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Perform testing, debugging, documentation, and continuous innovation.
- Train and mentor junior engineers as the UK team grows.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to improve product development.
Requirements
- Experience developing autonomous vehicle solutions for aerospace and defense.
- End-to-end experience developing deep-learning models, including modeling, input pipelines, evaluation, deployment, and model optimization.
- At least 5 years of experience building production software using modern software practices.
- Fluency in C++ or fluency in Python with intermediate C++ experience.
- Ability to hold UK Security Clearance, with current or previous clearance preferred.
- Willingness to travel for company business between offices and to customer sites.
- Preferred experience includes publications in computer vision, NLP, or robotics; experience with drones and PX4 flight computers; and experience evaluating and improving system-in-the-loop model performance.
- Strong communication, motivation, curiosity, thoughtful opinions, and a low-ego working style are sought.
