Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and verification of high-performance autonomy solutions for defense applications.
  • Prototype, evaluate, refine, and deploy machine-learning algorithms and solutions.
  • Build software and infrastructure foundations for behavior-specific machine-learning development using Applied Intuition products.
  • Develop perception and planning algorithms, optimize performance, and create robust system architectures.
  • Collaborate with perception, planning, and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Perform testing, debugging, documentation, and continuous innovation.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers as the UK team grows.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to improve product development.

Requirements

  • Experience developing autonomous vehicle solutions for aerospace and defense.
  • End-to-end experience developing deep-learning models, including modeling, input pipelines, evaluation, deployment, and model optimization.
  • At least 5 years of experience building production software using modern software practices.
  • Fluency in C++ or fluency in Python with intermediate C++ experience.
  • Ability to hold UK Security Clearance, with current or previous clearance preferred.
  • Willingness to travel for company business between offices and to customer sites.
  • Preferred experience includes publications in computer vision, NLP, or robotics; experience with drones and PX4 flight computers; and experience evaluating and improving system-in-the-loop model performance.
  • Strong communication, motivation, curiosity, thoughtful opinions, and a low-ego working style are sought.
