Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and verification of high-performance autonomy solutions for defense use cases.
- Prototype, evaluate, refine, and deploy machine-learning algorithms and solutions.
- Build software and infrastructure foundations for behavior-specific ML development using Applied Intuition products.
- Develop perception and planning algorithms and collaborate with engineers across teams.
- Optimize performance and develop robust system architectures.
- Translate product requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with product managers.
- Test, debug, document, and continuously improve autonomy products.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning and improvement.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
- Experience developing autonomous vehicle solutions for aerospace and defense.
- End-to-end experience developing deep-learning models, including modeling, input pipelines, evaluation, deployment, and optimization.
- At least 5 years of experience building production software using modern software practices.
- Fluency in C++, or fluency in Python with intermediate experience in C++.
- Ability to hold UK Security Clearance; current or previous clearance is preferred.
- Willingness to travel between company offices and to customer sites.
- Publications in computer vision, NLP, or robotics are desirable.
- Experience with drones and flight computers such as PX4 is desirable.
- Experience evaluating and improving system-in-the-loop model performance is desirable.
