Responsibilities
- Own the operational, technical, and informational architectures supporting client cybersecurity systems and services.
- Translate business and technical requirements into secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions and validate architecture quality.
- Design enterprise security architectures aligned with Zero Trust principles, identity-centric access control, micro-segmentation, continuous monitoring, and least privilege.
- Develop Engineering Design Documents, architecture blueprints, control implementation matrices, state diagrams, data flow diagrams, and security zone definitions.
- Design, integrate, and govern AWS GovCloud solutions with emphasis on EKS, ECS, and containerized environments.
- Direct integration of SIEM, SOAR, CDM, TDSP, EDR, AWS cloud-native services, and identity platforms.
- Design and maintain security controls supporting DevSecOps pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
- Manage IT architecture projects, solution roadmaps, modernization efforts, cloud migrations, and integrated systems implementation.
- Prepare architectural proposals, comparative analyses, implementation roadmaps, cost assessments, risk assessments, and operational impact analyses.
- Collaborate with business owners, analysts, engineers, development teams, and infrastructure services on application and data architecture standards.
- Evaluate complex systems architecture for performance and efficiency and recommend modernization approaches.
- Participate in architecture governance boards, technical working groups, review boards, and change control boards while briefing senior leadership.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience supporting cybersecurity information technology.
- At least three years of experience supporting cloud-based solutions.
- AWS Solutions Architect certification is required.
- Experience planning, managing, leading, and coordinating multiple concurrent cybersecurity design tasks with strict deadlines.
- Understanding of the software development, enhancement, and maintenance lifecycle.
- Ability to perform complex technical tasks and strong understanding of cybersecurity deployment, functionality, and operations.
- Experience with SIEM, EDR, CDM, penetration testing, DevSecOps, Identity and Access Management, and AWS GovCloud systems.
- Experience with EKS, ECS, and containerized environments.
- Strong knowledge of recent technological advances in computer science and engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship is required, and applicants must successfully pass a federal background investigation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Non-Sensitive / High Risk (Public Trust) Tier 4/6c security clearance.
- Preferred: AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty certifications.
- Preferred: working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5, NIST SP 800-160 Vol. 1, NIST SP 800-207, OMB M-22-09, and Executive Order 14028.
- Preferred: experience with FedRAMP-approved cloud service provider integration in federal environments.
- Preferred: familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, policy-as-code frameworks, client technology standards, and lifecycle management methodology.
