Responsibilities
- Design and implement virtual machines and virtualisation frameworks.
- Build foundational technologies for supporting external devices within virtual machines.
- Develop hardware passthrough and software device emulation capabilities.
- Work across kernel, user-space, framework, application, and guest operating system boundaries.
- Collaborate with experts across Apple’s software and hardware organizations.
Requirements
- Strong C++ programming skills.
- Strong understanding of operating systems internals and systems programming.
- Ability to work effectively across kernel, user-space, framework, and application layers.
- Excellent written, verbal, and collaborative communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field.
- Knowledge of USB or other device and bus technologies is preferred.
- Familiarity with virtualisation and hypervisor concepts is preferred.
- Experience with device emulation, hardware passthrough or redirection, and driver development is preferred.
- Swift programming skills are preferred.
