Responsibilities
- Automate infrastructure configuration using AWS CloudFormation, Chef, Packer, and Terraform.
- Automate tasks and ChatOps integrations with Lambda functions using Python and Node.js.
- Maintain and improve the Docker and Jenkins container build system.
- Participate in weekly on-call rotations and respond to production incidents.
- Configure and maintain secrets management, service discovery, and container orchestration systems.
- Review code for internal services and infrastructure changes.
- Collaborate with R&D, architecture, and development teams to resolve production defects, runtime inefficiencies, and operability issues.
- Define, track, and maintain SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets with development teams.
- Build and maintain observability pipelines and dashboards using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Splunk.
- Lead incident response, manage PagerDuty on-call escalations, and facilitate blameless post-mortems.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a similar discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience working in a Linux environment.
- At least 5 years of cloud computing administration and engineering experience with platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting and debugging infrastructure issues.
- Preferred experience with modern programming languages including Python, Ruby, Node, C#, SQL, or Go.
- Preferred 3+ years of experience with containerized software deployment and orchestration tools such as Rancher or Kubernetes.
- Preferred 3+ years of experience with orchestration and automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or SaltStack, and Terraform.
- Interest in emerging engineering practices and experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, PagerDuty AIOps, and LLM/AI service integrations.
