Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support enterprise-grade microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build scalable and resilient APIs and backend services.
- Implement event-driven solutions and asynchronous architectures using Kafka.
- Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on PCF and containerized environments.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
- Improve software quality through automated testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and reliable payment solutions.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding workflows to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues with a focus on reliability and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Java; 8+ years is preferred.
- Expert knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Framework, RESTful Services, JPA/Hibernate, multithreading, and concurrent programming.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven or asynchronous architectures.
- Understanding of reliability patterns including the Outbox Pattern, retry mechanisms, idempotency, and dead letter queues.
- Experience with PCF, Docker, and cloud-native application development.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or OpenShift and understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar relational databases.
- Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience with test-driven development, unit testing, integration testing, and API testing.
- Knowledge of secure coding and API security using OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted code generation, AI-driven testing and debugging, and agentic software development workflows.
- Preferred experience in payments, financial services, or FinTech; high-volume transaction-processing systems; event sourcing, CQRS, or domain-driven design; and Splunk, Dynatrace, or other observability platforms.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and using GenAI tools to improve engineering productivity is preferred.
