Base Salary
$181k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Improve the performance and resilience of backend systems across Altruist’s product teams.
- Implement observability practices using OpenTelemetry, logging, and standard SLOs.
- Own the design and follow-up process for incident response.
- Mentor engineering teams on secure, performant, and resilient coding practices.
- Promote automated testing practices and contribute to shared infrastructure solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional teams on challenging technical problems.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building scalable backend services at a B2B financial services, fintech, or SaaS organization.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
- Expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and databases including Postgres and MySQL.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- A B.A. or B.S. in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Software Engineering is preferred, while equivalent experience and understanding are valued.
- Preferred experience includes AWS cloud infrastructure, tabletop exercises, GitLab continuous integration and delivery pipelines, Terraform, Debezium, Temporal, OpenTelemetry, AI best practices with Claude, and brokerage or financial services platforms.
