Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software for customer and internal use.
- Gather and clarify software requirements from customers, application engineers, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers.
- Contribute to new and existing software projects using a broad range of languages and scopes.
- Collaborate with applications and systems engineers to troubleshoot system failures and propose software remedies.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Investigate and apply new technologies to improve the developer experience.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience with breadth and depth.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Strong expertise in Java; Kotlin knowledge is strongly preferred.
- JavaFX or GUI development experience, including JavaScript or TypeScript exposure, is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, behavior-driven development, and unit testing.
- Ability to develop creative software solutions, perform technical troubleshooting, and break down complex problems.
- Highly developed written and verbal cross-functional communication skills.
- Understanding of DevOps and experience with JIRA, Confluence, and GitLab are preferred.
- Basic electronics, microcontroller programming, and bus communications experience are strongly preferred.
