Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend service layers and APIs that integrate with web-based client applications.
- Design, build, and deploy single- and multi-agent AI solutions using Retrieval-augmented generation, versioned prompt libraries, skills, and evals.
- Deliver reliable, secure, accurate code and tests, including testing and evaluation frameworks for deterministic and model-based outputs.
- Write and review technical design documents for scalable systems.
- Develop project plans and deliver engineering projects on time and within budget with minimal guidance.
- Create rule-based and AI-based automations to reduce operational friction and technical debt.
- Collaborate across time zones and represent engineering on cross-functional projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of experience in full-stack or backend software development and system design.
- Experience with distributed data processing such as BigQuery or Spark, event streaming such as Kafka, and scalable communication protocols such as gRPC or Protocol Buffers.
- Experience with database technologies including SQL and NoSQL.
- Preferred experience designing and optimizing databases.
- Experience with collaborative code reviews, version control, continuous integration, and automated testing systems.
- Strong systems fundamentals and experience with, or willingness to learn, agentic AI frameworks and LLM tooling.
- Ability to manage ambiguous requirements and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across Product, UX, Data Engineering, and technical program management teams.
