Responsibilities
- Teach engineers how to use agentic coding capabilities effectively through pairing, debugging, office hours, demos, sessions, and written guidance.
- Provide forward-deployed support on real codebases and convert recurring problems into permanent improvements.
- Add agent harnesses, instruction files, MCP configurations, custom commands, subagents, permissions, and defaults to templates and golden paths.
- Define and track developer experience metrics such as adoption, cycle time, delivery throughput, and developer-reported friction.
- Evaluate newly released open-source and commercial models against tasks that reflect the company’s actual engineering work.
- Run structured evaluations of tools, protocols, agent patterns, and workflows and document adoption recommendations.
Requirements
- Production engineering experience and the ability to write production-quality code for real systems.
- Deep knowledge of at least one modern open-source programming language; Python and TypeScript are common, while Go, Rust, Kotlin, or comparable backgrounds are welcome.
- Daily use of Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Codex, with an understanding of their strengths and limitations.
- Familiarity with LLM APIs, tool calling, MCP, context management, agent and prompt design, token economics, and common failure modes.
- Engineering fundamentals including Git, CI/CD, containers, and at least one cloud platform.
- Evidence-based evaluation skills, ownership, speed, continuous improvement, and strong teaching and communication abilities.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Preferred: public technical work, experience with Backstage or scaffolding and template systems, knowledge of DevEx metrics such as DORA, SPACE, or DX Core 4, and experience serving engineers as users.
