Sr Lead Software Engineer - AWS, Terraform
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to technical teams, contractors, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Drive decisions affecting product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Lead adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, testing, release readiness, and incident analysis.
- Establish measurable standards for validating secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and AI-generated outputs.
- Use software development lifecycle tools, automation, and approved AI-assisted development capabilities to improve delivery at scale.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.
- Influence the adoption of leading-edge technologies and contribute to the engineering community and team culture.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least five years of applied experience.
- Experience developing and designing software with AWS services, especially database products.
- Experience with cloud security, governance, and identity and access management.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency with modern scripting languages, infrastructure as code, automation, and continuous delivery methods.
- Expertise in Python and Terraform.
- Experience delivering and supporting large-scale AWS production workload infrastructure.
- Advanced understanding of AWS traditional compute, containerization, and serverless architectures.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development practices and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
- Preferred: experience or education in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Developer, AWS Data Engineer, or Terraform Certified Associate certification.
- Preferred: expertise with Jira, Bitbucket, GitHub, and Confluence.
- Preferred: experience leading technology projects.
