Responsibilities
- Participate in refinement, planning, daily meetings, reviews, retrospectives, and other team ceremonies.
- Contribute to shift-left validation, requirements analysis, test scenarios, and testable acceptance criteria.
- Design, execute, and maintain functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and API tests.
- Create and maintain automated tests for stable and high-value backend scenarios.
- Validate service behavior, API contracts, error handling, logs, data consistency, and backend workflows.
- Identify, document, track, and report defects, test results, quality risks, and release concerns.
- Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, QA professionals, and stakeholders to resolve quality concerns early.
- Contribute to root cause analysis, preventive improvements, QA process improvement, and knowledge sharing with junior QAs and team members.
Requirements
- Experience as a QA Engineer, preferably in backend, platform, or technical product teams.
- Strong experience testing APIs, services, integrations, and backend workflows.
- Experience creating and executing automated API and backend tests.
- Solid understanding of functional, regression, exploratory, integration, and acceptance testing fundamentals.
- Ability to analyze requirements, identify edge cases and quality risks, and define test scenarios.
- Understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, status codes, authentication, request and response validation, and API contracts.
- Intermediate knowledge of database validation, debugging, and log analysis.
- Experience with test management and bug tracking tools such as Jira or Zephyr.
- Familiarity with automated test execution in CI/CD delivery workflows.
- Ability to work in agile environments using Scrum, Kanban, or similar methodologies.
- Strong communication, collaboration, organization, proactivity, and accountability.
- Preferred qualifications include contract, performance, reliability, or security testing; cloud, container, or Kubernetes experience; distributed systems and event-driven architecture testing; observability tools; release risk assessment; RCA; and mentoring or QA best-practice sharing.
- Intermediate English communication skills, written and spoken.
