Base Salary
$164k - $197k/yr
Responsibilities
- Research retrieval, reasoning, and agentic AI techniques and evaluate their relevance to the product roadmap.
- Prototype promising ideas and turn validated concepts into production-grade features.
- Build and maintain backend and frontend systems, including Agents Schema pipelines and the Context Catalog UI.
- Contribute to AISQL, enabling natural-language-to-SQL queries grounded in dbt metric definitions and executed against the warehouse.
- Own production reliability through on-call, incident response, and SRE work.
- Write and maintain tests and perform hands-on QA.
- Use coding agents to automate repetitive engineering work.
- Partner with product and design to shape the product roadmap using AI tooling market knowledge.
- Develop software designs and contribute to the technical roadmap.
- Participate in the hiring and interview process.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of programming experience across Python and/or Java, with the ability to move between backend and frontend work.
- Experience reading AI/ML research and translating promising findings into working prototypes.
- Experience with SQL and data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks.
- Ability to work across research, backend, frontend, SRE, and QA according to team needs.
- Experience using coding agents or similar AI tooling to accelerate engineering work.
- Ability to execute complex, ambiguous work with minimal hand-holding and improve unfamiliar codebases.
- Strong product and market awareness for evaluating emerging AI techniques.
- Experience with LLM-powered applications, RAG pipelines, embeddings, evaluation frameworks, or agent frameworks is a bonus.
- Familiarity with semantic layers such as dbt, LookML, or Sigma is a bonus.
- Experience with MCP or AI agent integrations is a bonus.
- Background in site reliability engineering, including monitoring, alerting, or incident response, is a bonus.
- Experience with ETL, ELT, data connectors, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, or open-source AI and data projects is a bonus.
