
Robotics Software Engineer

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain core robotics libraries for frame transformations, targeting, and guidance systems.
- Lead major product features, including Software-in-the-Loop simulators for systems such as Altius.
- Optimize the performance of deployed products, primarily the Altius Drone product line.
- Collaborate with hardware and manufacturing teams to influence hardware designs throughout the product lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot complex issues in deployed systems and improve field performance.
- Design and implement multi-agent coordination systems for UAVs.
- Participate in software design, testing, deployment, prototyping, and iteration.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and implement innovations that improve products and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C++ or Rust and experience with Linux development environments.
- Expertise in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization.
- Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
- Ability to collaborate with hardware and manufacturing teams.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Willingness to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia.
- Preferred qualifications include an advanced relevant degree, robotics expertise in motion planning, perception, localization, mapping, or controls, performance optimization experience, Python, Rust, or Go proficiency, embedded systems experience, UAV coordination experience, real-time systems and distributed computing familiarity, machine learning and AI applications knowledge, sensor fusion, UAV aerodynamics and flight dynamics, robotics simulation experience, and relevant open-source or publication contributions.
