Base Salary
$166k - $331k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define technical vision, architecture, and strategy for large systems.
- Design, build, review, and optimize scalable, reliable, secure, and operationally excellent systems.
- Lead cross-team engineering initiatives, major investments, and adoption of shared platforms and services.
- Influence product and engineering roadmaps across multiple organizations.
- Partner with Product Management, Design, Data Science, Security, and engineering leaders.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code and design reviews, and develop technical talent.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: 10+ years of software engineering experience and a proven record delivering large-scale services or products.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud computing, system architecture, performance and scalability, and security and reliability engineering.
- Proficiency in C#, Java, C++, Python, Go, and Azure technologies.
- Ability to lead complex cross-team initiatives and influence without direct authority.
- Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background checks upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
