Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud platform services, APIs, command-line tools, automation, and reusable software components.
- Build self-service platform capabilities that help product teams provision and manage infrastructure safely and consistently.
- Develop production-quality software using Go, Rust, Python, .NET, or similar languages.
- Create and integrate AI-enabled platform capabilities, including agents, MCP servers and clients, retrieval, tool integrations, and large language model APIs.
- Build CI/CD pipelines and reusable Infrastructure as Code modules for application, platform, container, and cloud provisioning workflows.
- Partner with engineering teams to identify friction, translate requirements into platform capabilities, and drive adoption through documentation and developer experience improvements.
- Own services through design, deployment, production readiness, monitoring, incident response, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in on-call support and troubleshoot cloud platform issues across applications, containers, networking, identity, storage, data services, security controls, and deployment tooling.
- Design observability using logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, alerts, and service-level indicators.
- Improve reliability, resiliency, recovery, operational efficiency, security, compliance, and cloud cost effectiveness.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to architecture, capacity planning, technical standards, mentoring, and cross-training.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in software, cloud, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
- 5–7 years of hands-on software development experience with Go, Rust, Python, .NET, or comparable technologies.
- Experience designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting production software, APIs, services, automation, or developer tooling.
- Enterprise experience deploying and supporting workloads in Microsoft Azure or another major public cloud.
- Strong cloud and infrastructure fundamentals covering networking, DNS, load balancing, identity and access management, compute, storage, certificates, secrets, and security controls.
- Proficiency with containers, preferably Kubernetes, and with CI/CD concepts and tools.
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code and configuration automation experience with technologies such as Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, or equivalents.
- Experience integrating large language models or AI platforms through APIs, agents, tools, MCP, or related patterns.
- Experience with automated unit, integration, functional, performance, and reliability testing.
- Experience with observability across applications and infrastructure, including metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and APM tools.
- Strong Linux troubleshooting and systems administration skills.
- Experience with data platforms or messaging technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Kafka, or comparable services.
- Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems and production issues across application and infrastructure layers.
- Ability and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and provide production support.
- Strong written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience includes internal developer platforms, platform APIs, service catalogs, golden paths, self-service portals, multi-tenant or event-driven systems, REST or gRPC API lifecycle practices, AI engineering patterns, GitOps, policy as code, secrets management, software supply-chain security, cloud governance automation, and site reliability engineering practices.
