Principal Software Engineer — Cloud Agentic AI Platform

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of scalable, resilient, secure cloud-native applications and platforms across public clouds.
- Define reference architectures, well-architected patterns, platform standards, architecture controls, guardrails, and reusable capabilities.
- Establish standards for generative and agentic AI features supporting multi-cloud management and intelligent automation.
- Architect microservices, event-driven systems, distributed applications, REST/gRPC APIs, and internal developer platforms.
- Lead adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows with human-in-the-loop validation, auditability, traceability, secure data handling, and governance.
- Apply AI-assisted development, prompt engineering, RAG, LLM orchestration, and agentic runtime tooling to improve engineering productivity.
- Drive monitoring, logging, tracing, SRE practices, operational excellence, resiliency, and cost optimization.
- Partner with architects, platform teams, engineering, product, risk, security, and business stakeholders to translate strategy into roadmaps.
- Lead teams, mentor and coach engineers, and provide credible technical authority and architecture direction.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on expertise in public-cloud application architecture and platform engineering, with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with cloud compute, storage, networking, serverless, containers, API Gateway, messaging, data, and Well-Architected Framework practices.
- Experience building internal developer platforms, self-service capabilities, reusable patterns, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, REST/gRPC APIs, and resilient cloud applications.
- Experience designing and leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled development practices across teams, including validation, auditability, traceability, and sensitive-data protection.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI, security, resiliency, data sensitivity, risk-based governance, and safe scaling patterns.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go and modern cloud-native frameworks.
- Experience embedding architecture guidance, governance controls, and policy-as-code into engineering workflows.
- Experience driving observability, operational excellence, and cost optimization.
- Experience leading teams and setting architecture direction as a technical authority.
- Experience applying generative and agentic AI through prompt engineering, RAG, LLM orchestration, and AI-assisted developer tooling.
- Advanced proficiency with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code and agentic runtime environments such as Agent Runtime, AgentCore, or Agent Service.
- Preferred experience across at least two major public-cloud providers and with distributed systems at scale.
- Preferred experience implementing cloud security guardrails, protecting enterprise data privacy, and working in financial services or other highly regulated environments.
- Familiarity with Spec-Drive, Test-Driven Development, open agentic frameworks, and custom MCP servers or tools.
