Responsibilities
- Own Zocdoc’s interoperability technical strategy and lead the rearchitecture of its synchronization framework.
- Design scalable abstractions, APIs, and interfaces that simplify integrations across more than 170 EHR systems.
- Build solutions for real-time availability, booking write-backs, appointment data exchange, and other integration capabilities.
- Ship production code hands-on using C#, AWS technologies, and React.
- Partner with senior product, engineering, and business leaders on strategic priorities and architectural decisions.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, coach teams, and establish engineering patterns and best practices.
- Improve reliability, scalability, code health, testing, deployment, observability, developer tooling, and engineering processes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of significant backend development experience.
- Experience architecting and shipping complex, high-impact solutions, frameworks, and system integrations across multiple technology areas.
- Experience building platforms or frameworks that abstract complexity for other engineering teams and designing usable APIs and interfaces.
- Strong system design and architectural leadership skills with a product-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to improve developer productivity through engineering best practices and tooling.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing adoption of engineering best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and cross-functional audiences.
- Experience working with distributed teams is preferred.
- Experience with AWS environments and a strong emphasis on testing are a plus.
- Understanding of object-oriented fundamentals.
