Base Salary
$180k - $290k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build key components of Stellar Core
- Develop robust, scalable, and extensible technologies for developers and network participants
- Collaborate on architectures and subsystems with engineering leadership, engineers, and open-source contributors
- Write clean, maintainable code with attention to edge cases and future-proofing
- Own core Stellar Core subsystems and help deliver critical product milestones
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
- Investigate and refactor performance bottlenecks to scale the system
- Author detailed technical feature and protocol RFC specifications
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience developing software on a team
- BS or MS in Computer Science or an equivalent field
- Production experience writing modern C++ or Rust
- Understanding of software design patterns and reusable, extensible, modular component design
- Experience with development best practices and tools
- Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking
- Strong communication skills for technical discussions, design, and code review
- Bonus: direct experience designing and implementing distributed systems
- Bonus: curiosity about blockchain and cryptocurrencies and understanding of their fundamentals
