Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own architecture, interfaces, and data models across multiple services.
- Define the technical roadmap and identify scalability bottlenecks, architectural risks, structural technical debt, and reliability concerns.
- Provide technical direction to project and stream technical leads and ensure local decisions align with organization-wide goals.
- Identify cross-team architectural and technical dependencies, resolve conflicting priorities, and eliminate single points of failure.
- Write code for high-risk proofs of concept, shared foundational libraries, and critical-path components while delegating day-to-day feature work.
- Lead designs across sub-teams and standardize architectural patterns for the data export platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in Java.
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 8 years of experience with system architecture and leading cross-functional engineering projects.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
- Preferred: experience building or scaling distributed systems handling petabyte-scale datasets.
