Responsibilities

  • Oversee requirements engineering, system analysis, software design, implementation, testing, maintenance, and operational support for space-industry ground-system applications.
  • Own complex implementation tasks and technical solutions and lead simulator performance improvement activities such as callgrind analysis.
  • Produce and maintain technical and project documentation, JIRA tracking, reporting, and audit materials.
  • Deliver software and documentation according to agreed schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Support project planning, task allocation, resource follow-up, and coordination with the SIM Group Manager.
  • Interface directly with customers and participate in Technical Progress Meetings.
  • Mentor and support junior software engineers.
  • Perform software-system studies, technology investigations, prototyping, technical proposal support, and customer support as project needs require.

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, or equivalent qualifications supported by strong software engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience modelling satellite systems and subsystems.
  • Hands-on experience with SIMULUS and other simulation frameworks.
  • Experience with simulation standards such as SMP2 or ECSS-SMP.
  • Strong C++ programming and object-oriented software development skills.
  • Experience working in GNU/Linux environments.
  • Experience with software development processes, lifecycles, and model-based software engineering using UML.
  • Experience with unit testing such as CppUnit and system testing such as JavaScript-based testing frameworks.
  • Additional experience with CORBA, XML, POSIX programming, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, software project support, and customer-facing technical roles is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of ECSS standards, quality assurance and product assurance activities, and European space agencies or space-industry partners is highly valued.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, strong organization and communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and willingness to mentor junior engineers.
