Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate high-performance Linux platforms for low-latency electronic trading.
  • Architect immutable infrastructure, containerized systems, next-generation deployment models, and automated provisioning pipelines.
  • Perform kernel tuning, CPU isolation and pinning, NUMA optimization, IRQ affinity configuration, kernel-bypass networking, and precision time synchronization.
  • Develop production-quality code and automation to reduce manual work and improve platform reliability and performance.
  • Lead adoption, governance, validation, and secure use of approved AI-assisted software engineering tools and workflows.
  • Design CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, standardized server builds, fleet automation, patching, and configuration drift controls.
  • Partner with electronic trading businesses and hardware and software vendors on technical strategy and infrastructure roadmaps.
  • Influence resource, budget, governance, operational, and engineering decisions across multiple teams and domains.
  • Mentor and influence SREs, engineers, senior stakeholders, and partner technical teams, including leading cross-functional technologists and developing talent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Strong production programming and automation skills using Python, Go, or Bash.
  • Deep hands-on Linux administration, internals, performance tuning, and benchmarking experience, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and low-latency, high-throughput environments.
  • Experience with kernel-bypass networking using Solarflare Onload and configuration management using Chef or Ansible.
  • Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI engineering practices, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
  • Understanding of IPv4 networking, the OSI model, unicast, broadcast, multicast, routing, and network segregation.
  • Experience designing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform, and cloud-native container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technology teams and hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
  • Preferred experience includes electronic trading or other latency-sensitive, high-availability environments, colocation data centers, low-latency Linux performance tuning, golden server builds, fleet management, automated patching, and configuration drift control.
