Responsibilities

  • Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking, and services in real-world environments.
  • Architect Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark infrastructure on premises or in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Architect and integrate open-source software including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, and NGINX.
  • Help partners architect joint solutions using Canonical technologies in public clouds and data centers.
  • Design and publish joint reference architectures and perform technical validations with partners.
  • Prepare and deliver onboarding sessions and workshops for partner teams to promote Canonical products and solutions.
  • Support OEM, GSI, ISV, channel, and public cloud alliance partners from a technical perspective.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with Linux, preferably Ubuntu, Kubernetes, Ceph, and software automation.
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions on public or private clouds.
  • Understanding of Python and Bash, with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field, or related technical field experience.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and reliably follow up on commitments.
  • Interest in customer-facing engagements, including pitching, demonstrating, and understanding customer environments and needs.
  • Interest in technologies including LXD, Juju, and Snaps.
  • Ability to travel globally up to 30% of the time.
