Responsibilities
- Coordinate testing, automation, and quality engineering activities across cross-functional teams and lines of business.
- Design tests from functional and non-functional requirements, specifications, solution architecture, and delivery plans.
- Plan, execute, and deliver testing across relevant phases, including non-functional testing.
- Design, build, maintain, enhance, verify, refactor, and review scalable automated test frameworks, scripts, test code, and reusable libraries.
- Test cloud and data platforms, including data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, storage, reconciliation, and consumption processes.
- Validate data quality, completeness, accuracy, timeliness, lineage, and integrity across source and target systems.
- Integrate automated test suites into GitLab or equivalent CI/CD pipelines and improve execution reliability, speed, maintainability, and diagnostics.
- Define and contribute to test strategies, plans, estimates, quality gates, delivery assurance, environment requirements, test data, and tool selection.
- Investigate test failures, maintain defect records and end-to-end traceability, and report quality, progress, risks, issues, anomalies, and test results.
- Apply ASX software testing policies, guidelines, standards, approved tools, and quality engineering practices.
- Lead peer reviews, provide technical guidance, and identify improvements to testing methods, tools, automation patterns, and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, business analysis, product, testing, delivery management, and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience testing cloud and data platforms across AWS, Azure, or GCP, with strong experience in AWS-hosted applications and data platforms.
- Experience testing AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Lake Formation, DataZone, DMS, and MWAA where applicable.
- Extensive automation experience using Python, Java, or C# to build and maintain scalable, reusable, and reliable test automation frameworks.
- Experience testing functional, integration, API, data, regression, and selected non-functional scenarios.
- Experience testing microservices, container-based solutions, batch pipelines, and event-driven integrations.
- Strong experience with ETL solutions, Business Objects, databases, SQL scripting, test environments, and software releases.
- Experience integrating automated tests into GitLab or equivalent CI/CD pipelines and maintaining version-controlled test assets.
- Experience defining test approaches from requirements, solution designs, and architecture, and contributing to test strategies, plans, estimates, and quality gates.
- Experience with peer reviews, automation standards, coding and maintenance practices, technical guidance, and stakeholder communication.
- Nice-to-have experience with AI for test automation, Cucumber, SpecFlow, Pytest, JUnit, LoadRunner, performance/load/capacity testing, capital markets, FpML, SWIFT, FIX, release management, regulatory delivery, and audit-driven environments.
- Candidates must be legally authorised to work in Australia permanently without restrictions.
