Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated embedded software tests in Python.
- Design and maintain software simulation and emulation environments for scenario, edge-case, and fault-injection testing.
- Integrate simulations and emulators with Pytest, GitLab CI, and hardware-in-the-loop systems.
- Establish and enhance automated HITL tests using inertial navigation system hardware.
- Improve GitLab CI pipelines, runner performance, test coverage, and simulation fidelity.
- Triage test failures and own keeping the test pipeline green.
- Implement requirements tracing, monitor code coverage, and produce verification reports.
- Document and communicate test results and ensure test cases are established during planning and development.
- Interface with automated test equipment such as robot arms and rotary stages.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in hardware and software testing, with emphasis on automated testing and continuous integration.
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop testing and integrating hardware with test systems.
- Extensive experience with continuous integration systems.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining embedded software simulation and emulation environments using QEMU, Renode, Simics, or equivalent tools.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience developing test frameworks and scripts.
- Experience with Inertial Navigation Systems or related technologies such as GNSS and sensors.
- Knowledge of FPGA testing methodologies and tools such as cocotb.
- Experience interfacing with automated test equipment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, debugging, communication, planning, and documentation skills.
- Strong ownership, initiative, attention to detail, time management, and follow-through.
- Strong mathematics and physics background, control systems proficiency, and MATLAB proficiency are nice to have.
