Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction, architecture, and delivery of custom software solutions.
- Lead development and implementation of architectural frameworks for scalable software.
- Develop complex Sybase ASE queries and T-SQL stored procedures and perform database optimization and performance tuning.
- Design and develop Python-based ETL and data solutions involving data cleansing, ingestion, loading, and reporting.
- Use Unix, Shell scripting, and Autosys for file operations, permissions, environments, and data processing.
- Establish development standards and ensure software quality, scalability, and performance.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert, manage team execution, make team decisions, and provide solutions across multiple teams.
- Mentor team members and coordinate cross-functional efforts with business stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with Sybase Database; the detailed role profile cites 8+ years of experience.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Strong knowledge of Sybase ASE, SQL, T-SQL, stored procedures, database design, optimization, performance tuning, security, backup, and recovery.
- Experience working on Unix platforms, including file operations, permissions, environments, and data analysis.
- Hands-on Python experience for ETL and data solutions.
- Experience with Shell scripting and Autosys.
- Ability to translate business requirements into implementable steps and work within an agile SDLC.
- Strong coding, refactoring, problem-solving, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
