Responsibilities
- Participate in architecture design for globally distributed backend systems.
- Maintain and improve authentication and authorization services and develop new microservices using OCaml and Rust.
- Provide technical support to customers for APIs and client use cases.
- Perform regression, stress, performance, unit, and integration testing and improve test coverage.
- Participate in code reviews and document and verify completed work.
- Understand and support deployment and networking in Kubernetes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s-level degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally in system programming.
- Programming and debugging experience in a Linux environment.
- Deep understanding of HTTP and REST or HTTP-based RPC protocols such as Twirp or gRPC.
- Experience with multithreaded and asynchronous network programming concepts and frameworks.
- Strong technical communication skills in written and verbal English, including presenting project status and deliveries.
- Preferred experience with Cassandra or similar databases and distributed systems and algorithms.
- Preferred understanding of OAuth and OIDC, with Active Directory and LDAP expertise as a plus.
- Preferred experience building secure systems that handle sensitive data.
- Preferred Linux debugging and profiling experience with tools such as perf, tcpdump, Wireshark, strace, and Valgrind.
- Preferred understanding of functional programming and statically strongly typed systems, including Haskell, OCaml, F#, Scala, or Rust.
