Responsibilities

  • Review code contributions, technical proposals, and RFCs for robustness, safety, and performance.
  • Implement features, algorithms, infrastructure, capabilities, and products across the stack.
  • Maintain and improve the software stack, operational reliability, performance, and technical debt.
  • Develop tests and benchmarks, including micro-level, macro-level, hardware-in-the-loop simulations, and flight testing.
  • Work with internal and external customers to identify and resolve issues.
  • Mentor colleagues, participate in interviewing, and share technical knowledge through talks and learning groups.
  • Present work in weekly demo sessions.

Requirements

  • Ability to write legible, maintainable, and performant code.
  • Strong backend or embedded development experience, ideally with Rust, Go, or C++.
  • Comfort developing distributed systems.
  • Experience collaborating on complex system architectures involving tight hardware-software integration.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Significant Rust experience is a plus.
  • Network programming experience is a plus.
  • Experience with custom runtime environments, sandboxing, or secure execution contexts for third-party code is a plus.
  • Experience with avionics, flight-control systems, or Guidance, Navigation, and Control is a plus.
  • Familiarity with low-level flight-control systems and their interfaces is a plus.
  • Experience with sensor integration and sensor-fusion techniques for navigation is a plus.
  • Experience with hardware interfaces such as Arduino is a plus.
